Celebrity Portraits

This series examines the nature of celebrities, their status as near mythological figures living alongside us, and the reality that is covered up by the media.  We see them portrayed as perfect people living perfect lives, yet through a simple google search we can find an abundance of candid images of these people in their natural, very human, state.  Our society finds a level of humor in this, and this series draws attention to that aspect by taking these images, that ordinarily these individuals would prefer not to acknowledge due to embarrassment, and elevating them to the status of fine art via the medium of oil paint.
